Congress will suffer huge loss due to Milind Deora breaking 55 year old relationship! Know why this is so

Before the Lok Sabha elections, Congress has suffered a major setback in Maharashtra. This blow has come just before the start of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Actually, Milind Deora has announced his resignation from the primary membership of Congress. This ended his family’s 55-year-old relationship with the party. Milind Deora, son of veteran Congress leader Murli Deora, gave the above information on social media. He wrote that today an important chapter in my political journey has ended. I have tendered my resignation from the primary membership of Congress, ending my family’s 55-year-old relationship with the party. According to media reports, Milind Deora may join Shiv Sena Shinde faction.

Milind Deora dismissed the speculations as ‘rumors’

Milind Deora’s resignation comes amid speculations that the Union minister will join Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. However, Deora on Saturday dismissed these speculations as ‘rumours’. Talking about Deora, he is the same leader who had recently made public his displeasure over Shiv Sena (UBT) claiming Mumbai South Lok Sabha constituency. When asked if he was working on any plan with his supporters, he said, “I am listening to my supporters…no decision has been taken yet.”

Milind Deora is the son of which legend?

Milind Deora is the son of veteran Congress leader Murli Deora. He had won the Mumbai South seat in the Lok Sabha elections 2004 and 2009. In the subsequent 2014 and 2019 elections, he had to face defeat against Shiv Sena (Undivided) leader Arvind Sawant. Deora had said that his family has represented this seat for 50 years. He was not elected after any wave. Responding to a question on media reports, Deora said that these are rumours, stating that he is leaving Congress to join Shinde-led Shiv Sena.

Why did Deora leave Congress?

Let us tell you that the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction had claimed to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai South constituency, which was represented by Deora before 2014, which did not go down well with the Congress leader. In a video statement released recently, Deora said that if such statements by the “alliance partner” are not stopped, his party may also announce candidates for the seats. It may be noted that Shiv Sena (UBT) is an alliance partner of Congress and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) in Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra.

Congress will suffer loss

If experts are to be believed, if the speculations about Milind Deora joining Shinde’s group prove to be true then Congress may suffer a bigger loss. This is because Mumbai has been the stronghold of Deora in the south.
