Congress CEC: Reorganization of Congress CEC, 16 leaders including Kharge, Sonia and Rahul got place

Congress on Monday Central Election Committee (CEC) was reconstituted, in which a total of 16 leaders including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were included. According to a release issued by the party’s Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, the Congress President formed the CEC.

Former PM Manmohan Singh also got a place in the new CEC

The new CEC does not include former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, senior leaders AK Antony, Girija Vyas, Mukul Wasnik, Veerappa Moily, Mohsina Kidwai and Janardan Dwivedi, who were included in the previous CEC. Manmohan Singh, Antony, Wasnik and Moily were recently given a place in the working committee.

Apart from Kharge, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, the new CEC of Congress includes Venugopal, Ambika Soni, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, Madhusudan Mistry, Uttam Kumar Reddy, TS Singh Deo, Salman Khurshid, KJ George, Pritam Singh, Mohammad Javed, Ami Yaznik, PL Poonia and Omkar Markam have been included. The CEC of Congress gives the final approval to the names of the candidates in the elections.
