The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert saying that there is a possibility of cold wave at isolated places in the western and adjacent central parts of Jharkhand on 18, 19 and 20 December. The temperature of the capital Ranchi is expected to drop to six degrees. The weather center has said that on December 18, the maximum temperature of Ranchi and its surrounding areas is expected to decrease from 24 degrees to 21 degrees. At the same time, the minimum temperature is expected to decrease from eight degrees centigrade to six degrees centigrade.

Weather center issued yellow alert of cold wave

Yellow alert of cold wave has been issued by the Meteorological Department in Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, Ranchi and some areas of Lohardaga district. According to the Automated Weather Station data of the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Khunti district has been recorded at 6 degrees and in Chatra it has been recorded at 6.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of Garhwa has been recorded at 6.7 degrees and the minimum temperature of West Singhbhum has been recorded at 6.9 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of Hinnu in the capital Ranchi was eight degrees, while the minimum temperature of Tatisilve was 8.4 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature of Ranchi was 1.3 degrees below normal and the minimum temperature was 1.1 degrees Celsius below normal. The maximum temperature of Jamshedpur was 1.8 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was 1.2 degrees. The maximum temperature of Daltenganj was 0.4 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded 1 degree below normal. The maximum temperature of Bokaro district was 2.9 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded 4.2 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature of Chaibasa has been recorded 2.9 degrees above normal and the minimum temperature has been recorded 4.4 degrees below normal.
