Cold wave will blow in Bihar even on Makar Sankranti, Meteorological Department gave alert of cold day in these places

Patna. Makar Sankranti, January 15 is also likely to become a cold day in many places of the state. Fog can be very dense especially along the banks of Ganga and its tributary rivers. According to meteorologists, devotees going to take bath here will need to be cautious to avoid cold. At present, there is a possibility of moderate to dense fog in the state on Monday also. Another western disturbance is becoming active from 16th. Due to this, there may be some increase in temperature after 16 and then some decrease in it. IMD will soon issue a forecast regarding its impact.

IMD has also issued a yellow alert on Tuesday. Here, like Saturday, on Sunday, the north-westerly wind in Bihar moved at an average speed of six to ten kilometers per hour. Due to this, severe cold was felt at many places in South-Central and South-West Bihar. However, at some places Kankani was felt even after the sun came out.

Due to cold westerlies at the surface and up to one kilometer above the surface, the situation in the state became such that cold days were recorded in Patna, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Valmiki Nagar, Muzaffarpur, Buxar and Rohtas etc. The highest temperature here was recorded four and a half to six degrees below normal. Cold wave conditions also occurred in the south-western part of the state adjoining Uttar Pradesh.

According to the official data of IMD, the maximum temperature in Patna was recorded at 15.4, six degrees below normal, Bhagalpur recorded 17.5, five degrees below normal and the minimum temperature here was six degrees below normal, the highest temperature in Purnia was recorded at seven degrees below normal. The highest temperature in Purnia was seven degrees below normal. A severe cold day situation arose here. According to the data, minimum temperatures around or below 10 degrees were recorded in more than 25 districts/places of the state.

According to IMD, the average minimum temperature in the state on Tuesday was 8.7 degrees Celsius and the average maximum temperature in the state was between 16-17 degrees Celsius.

Severe cold day in Patna, increased noise due to westerly wind

Severe cold day continues in Patna and surrounding areas. After two consecutive days of cold day, severe cold day was recorded in Patna for the third day on Sunday. According to the report released by the Meteorological Center, westerly wind continues to flow in the city. Due to this, Kankani has increased in the capital. On Sunday, the maximum temperature of Patna was recorded at 15.4 degrees Celsius, six degrees below normal and the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.7 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the maximum temperature of Shimla and Dehradun was also higher than that of Patna. The maximum temperature of Shimla was recorded at 18.8 degrees Celsius and Dehradun at 22.2 degrees Celsius.

Now possibility of increase in minimum temperature

According to the Meteorological Center, the weather may provide relief in the coming one or two days. The minimum temperature of the city may increase by two to three degrees Celsius in the next three days. Apart from this, the flow of westerly wind is also likely to reduce slightly. There will be fog in the morning and evening on Monday, but people will get relief due to some sunshine during the day.
