There was dense fog in the country’s capital Delhi today i.e. on Wednesday. Around 120 flights were delayed at IGI airport due to fog. The affected flights include both domestic and international. According to a report by news agency ANI, a total of 53 flights including 21 domestic arrivals, 16 domestic departures as well as 13 international departures and 3 international arrivals were canceled from Delhi airport due to fog and other operational reasons. Common people are facing a lot of problems due to frequent flight cancellations.

Wheels of trains stopped on tracks
There is dense fog along with severe cold in North India. The operation of these trains has also been affected. A railway spokesperson said that due to dense fog, 30 trains coming to Delhi are running late by a maximum of six hours. In North India, the visibility level in Varanasi, Agra, Gwalior, Jammu, Pathankot and Chandigarh was zero meter while in Gaya it was recorded at 20 meter. Many trains including Ajmer-Katra Puja Express, Prayagraj-Anand Vihar Express, Azamgarh-Delhi Junction Kaifiyat Express, Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Howrah-New Delhi Duronto Express are running late.

IMD issued alert
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised people to avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution while driving as visibility reached zero meters at many places due to dense fog. IMD said that dense to very dense fog is likely to persist in North India for the next three days. According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are expected to continue in the north-western areas of the country for the next three days. There will also be fog.
