Lucknow : The government has also suspended the Chief Medical Officer in connection with the removal of eyes of a deceased woman during post-mortem in Badaun district. The medical officer who conducted the post-mortem has already been suspended. State Deputy Chief Minister cum Health Minister Brijesh Pathak gave this information on social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday. Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak said that serious cognizance has been taken of the very sad incident related to the allegations of removing the eyes of the deceased woman during the post-mortem. The Chief Medical Officer, Badaun has been suspended by me with immediate effect as a result of negligence in his responsibilities and duties and lax administrative control.

Investigation handed over to Additional Director Bareilly

State Deputy Chief Minister cum Health Minister Brijesh Pathak said that instructions have been given to the Principal Secretary, Medical and Health to take departmental disciplinary action against the CMO and to get the allegations investigated by the Director Medical Health. Instructions have been given to the Additional Director, Medical and Family Welfare Bareilly Division Bareilly to provide the details of the doctors and personnel who conducted the post-mortem for the first time. Those who commit crimes and commit such heinous acts have no place in the health department. Strict action will be taken against all the culprits involved in the said case.
