CM Yogi inaugurates B Pax Mahabhiyan, UP will move towards One District One Cooperative Bank

Lucknow: CM Yogi Adityanath launched B Pax membership campaign and toll free number from his residence on Friday. On this occasion, he said that keeping in view the development of the state and the needs of food giver farmers, everyone should get banking facilities. We have told the Cooperative Department that mapping should be done at the places where bank branch is required.

CM Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh has the largest base of MSMEs. Cooperative banks can play a big role for this. We should try to open a branch of the cooperative bank there. Along with this, the work of connecting the program of BC Sakhi should be done. Open banks in the first phase, make these banks profitable in the second phase and then in the third phase we move towards the concept of One District, One Cooperative Bank. The state government will cooperate fully in this.

He said that today Uttar Pradesh is moving forward as a good investment destination. Our One District One Product program has spread across the country. Today, for the goal of self-reliance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also says that we have to think about local for global. In this, the MSME department is carrying forward a big campaign for their packaging, designing, marketing for their local products. There is a new competition that we should also contribute in increasing the local products. If co-operative banks also join this process, it will help in restoring the confidence of the general public in them.

Double engine government linking cooperation with prosperity

The CM said that cooperatives have been an integral part of the Indian tradition since ancient times. But at one time this work of co-operative got dented and wrong people got involved in it. The state with the largest population of the country paid a heavy price for this. We are all grateful to PM Modi, who after becoming PM again in 2019, gave the status of ministry to cooperatives. By making cooperative a medium of prosperity in the life of the common citizen, it has taken an important step towards achieving the goal of prosperity, self-reliance and self-reliance.

As the first Cooperative Minister of the country, Amit Shah has worked towards strengthening the PACS, the most basic unit of the cooperative, linking it with prosperity. It is a matter of pleasure for us that this membership drive has been started and toll free number has been issued in Uttar Pradesh from 01st to 30th September. CM Yogi said that the double engine government is taking forward the program by linking cooperation with prosperity. Till now PACS was limited to selling fertilizers and seeds, but now it is also being developed as a Common Service Development Centre. Now other facilities will be available there.

Campaign will give new momentum to cooperative movement

He said that in a state like Uttar Pradesh, agriculture has been its biggest prosperity. We have the most fertile land in the world and the best water resources. There are more than 2.61 lakh farmers who are associated with PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. That means we have 3 crore farmers, who can be helpful in connecting the agriculture of Uttar Pradesh with the prosperity of Uttar Pradesh by joining this campaign and taking it on the path of prosperity.

At the time of India’s independence, agriculture accounted for more than 40 percent of the total GDP. Gradually it decreased and now it has come down to 16-17 percent. But in Uttar Pradesh it is still 25 to 26 percent. We can contribute even better in this. If farmers get seeds on time, fertilizers on time, all the units start working effectively, then there is no reason why Annadata farmers should not do the work of growing gold from this land. It is believed that this campaign will play an important role in giving a new impetus to the cooperative movement in Uttar Pradesh. Good people, interested people will get selected through this and move forward.

Increase credit limit of PACS, link crop loans with cooperative banks

Along with increasing the credit limit of PACS, CM Yogi stressed the need to set targets regarding crop loans. He said that the 7500 packs we currently have are much less than the liquidity required for purchasing fertiliser. As per the requirement of the state, a credit limit of Rs 10 lakh is required. Immediate action should be taken in this regard and the credit limit of 7500 packs should be increased. So that the farmer is comfortable.

He said that in the coming times, crop loans should be considered in collaboration with the Agriculture Department. The MSME department has also been told that under ODOP or Vishwakarma Shram Samman, when we provide money from the bank to any handicraftsman or artisan, we should link it with digital payment. If he pays his installment on time on digital payment, then there should be a system at the state government level to give him incentive on the interest earned. So that we can encourage our handicraftsmen and artisans at the local level. It would be better to connect him with a cooperative bank, which will fulfill his small needs.

What is B Pax campaign?

B-PAX is a scheme to open multipurpose rural cooperative societies. There are 250 cooperative societies operating in the district to provide fertilizers, seeds and benefits of various government schemes to the farmers at cheap rates. To avoid any problem in future regarding loan distribution, fertilizer and seed distribution, members will be made on every committee under the B-PACK campaign from September 01. In this membership campaign which will run till 30th September, at least 200 members will be added to each committee.

Any farmer can become a member by deducting a receipt of Rs.21. The member farmer will have to buy a share bond of Rs.200. With this, the loan limit to the member farmers will be increased. Whose annual interest rate will also be less. Any member who lives in the Gram Panchayat of the Resource Co-operative Society and does business on a temporary basis or is a land owner, and also wants to deposit money in the society, can become an ordinary member of the society. After becoming a member, it will be easier for the farmers to avail the benefits of the resource cooperative society.
