CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated the developed Simaria Dham

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated the developed Simaria Dham, a major center of faith for the people of the entire state including Mithilanchal. Inaugurated Simaria Dham, developed at a cost of Rs 115 crore in the first phase on the North Vahini Ganga river near Simaria Dham in Begusarai district. Staircase ghat, Dharamshala, park, bathing ghat and changing room have been constructed on the North Vahini Ganga river near Simaria Dham in Begusarai district. Along with this, construction of pavilion for religious rituals and designated place for Ganga Aarti, security arrangements and barricading for bathing parallel to the ghat, shaded canopy, watch tower, seating arrangements for devotees and landscaping and other beautification works have been done.

CM took stock of Simaria Ghat

On this occasion, the CM also offered prayers at the newly constructed Stair Ghat. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister took stock of Simaria Ghat and also gave necessary instructions to the officials. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Singha, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, former Water Resources Minister Sanjay Kumar Jha, Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department and Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh and others were present.

The foundation stone of the scheme was laid in May 2023

On this occasion, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said that Simaria Dham is a major religious place of Bihar. Being the site of Kumbh and Kalpavas since ancient times, it has been a major religious and spiritual centre. During his Samadhan Yatra in February 2023, Honorable Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had given instructions for proper development of Simaria Dham and the foundation stone of this scheme was laid in the month of May last. It is a matter of joy that this scheme is being launched today.

Giving information, Chaudhary said that under this scheme, 550 meters of erosion prevention work and construction of staircase ghat along with development of river front has been done at a cost of about Rs 115 crore. He told that apart from Simaria being the gateway to the entire Mithila region, it will also gain fame as Haridwar of Bihar.

Construction of these facilities is underway

On behalf of the Water Resources Department, raising, strengthening and sheet piling of the ghat on the left bank of river Ganga between the Rajendra Bridge in Simaria and the six lane bridge under construction, along with the construction of a ladder ghat of about 550 meters in length, along with the entire Kalpwas area. Construction work of various facilities for the devotees is going on. The plan includes development of the river front, construction of changing rooms near the bathing ghat, security arrangements parallel to the bathing ghat, construction of a site for Ganga Aarti, construction of a pavilion for religious rituals, seating arrangements and landscaping for devotees, toilet complex, Construction of three-storey Dharamshala complex, shaded canopy, watch tower, pathway and lighting system etc. is included. Apart from this, Mukti Dham situated in the south is to be improved by the six lane bridge under construction.
