CM Mamta Banerjee will review the plans before the Panchayat elections, will hold an administrative meeting on April 26

Before the Panchayat elections, Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee is going to review the ongoing schemes under all the departments. It has been told that on April 26, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will hold a meeting with ministers and secretaries of all departments. Before the Panchayat elections, this meeting of the Chief Minister is considered very important. Before this meeting, the state secretariat has called for reports from all the departments regarding the schemes implemented in their areas. According to the information, during the meeting, the Chief Minister will pay special attention to the schemes related to rural development.

Based on the outcome of the meeting, the chief minister may finalize the areas she will focus on during the campaign for the panchayat polls. Sources said that issues like Pathashree are likely to be given utmost importance during the meeting. This special project was started keeping in mind the rural elections. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, an amount of Rs 3,000 crore was allocated by the state government for the construction of new rural roads and repair of damaged roads in the absence of central funds. A total of 12,000 km of rural roads will be constructed with this amount.

It has been told that during the meeting an important decision can also be taken regarding MNREGA. Since the Center stopped releasing funds under MGNREGA to Bengal alleging financial irregularities, the West Bengal government is trying to provide jobs to MGNREGA card holders through schemes of its various departments. The Chief Minister will also take reports from the departments in this regard. According to the information received from the sources of the State Secretariat, notification of Panchayat elections can be issued after the meeting.

It has been told that the process of submission of applications during Duare Sarkar has ended till Monday, but the deadline for delivery of services has been extended till 30 April. Therefore, it is believed that the notification for the Panchayat elections can be issued by the beginning of May. If the notification is issued in the first week of May, then the panchayat elections can be held by the end of May or in the first week of June, because according to the rule, there should be a gap of 24 days between the announcement of the notification and the polling.

Chief Secretary instructed to complete the work of pending schemes by the second week of May Meeting with DM, SDO and BDO of all districts

Hari Krishna Dwivedi, Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal, has directed all the administrative officers of the state to complete the pending schemes by the second week of May. On Wednesday, Chief Secretary Hari Krishna Dwivedi held a virtual meeting with the DMs, SDOs and BDOs of all the districts from the State Secretariat. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed all the officers to complete the work related to rural development in their area by the second week of May.

After this instruction of the Chief Minister, speculations are being made that Panchayat elections may be held in the state by the end of May or in the first week of June. In the meeting, the Chief Secretary has instructed to complete the services of sending money directly to the bank account by April 20. Also, in the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed that all the complaints against Laxmi Bhandar should be resolved quickly. Especially during the Duare Sarkar camp, about three lakh complaints have been registered regarding Lakshmi Bhandar. According to sources, the Chief Secretary has instructed the District Magistrates in the meeting to speed up the process of redressal of complaints.

It is noteworthy that on Monday, the work of taking applications in Duare government camps has been completed, now the process of providing services has started from Tuesday. The state government has already extended the deadline for providing services from April 20 to April 30. It is notable that more than 58.05 lakh people had reached the camps organized from April 1 to 10. It has been told that in the sixth edition of Duare Sarkar, 94,377 camps were organized to collect applications, in which a total of 58,05,315 people reached. Maximum 11.6 lakh people had reached the camps in South 24 Parganas, 7.36 lakh in Murshidabad, 4.72 lakh in Nadia, four lakh in North 24 Parganas and three lakh in East Medinipur.
