This is the reason why the government is working seriously in this direction. He said that on the demand of Kunbi certificate, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of retired judge Shinde.

Maratha Reservation: Earlier, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde had said that the government has held a high level meeting today on Maratha reservation. He said that he has already talked to the protesters. He said that we will resolve this issue in a systematic manner. Our government is serious in resolving the issues related to Maratha reservation. He said, today in the high level meeting, reservation for the Maratha community has been discussed. The government is working seriously in this direction. CM Shinde said that the Maratha community should get reservation, this is what the government believes. CM Shinde also said that Minister of State Girish Mahajan and other ministers will go for discussion. We can resolve this issue only through dialogue.

It is noteworthy that Maharashtra is currently burning in the fire of Maratha reservation. People of Maratha community are continuously protesting demanding reservation. During the recent violence over reservation, many people including 40 policemen were injured, while more than 15 government buses were set on fire. Here, the agitating people say that they will continue the agitation until the government gives reservation to the Maratha community. After the violence of the past few days, the agitators had also raised questions on the working style of the police. The agitators had asked why the police resorted to aerial firing and lathicharge when a peaceful protest was being carried out.

Maratha organization calls for Thane bandh on September 11
A Maratha organization has called for a bandh here on September 11 in protest against the recent police lathicharge in Jalna district on protesters demanding reservation in Maharashtra. The bandh called by Sambhaji Brigade supported Sakal Maratha Morcha has been supported by local leaders of opposition parties in the state. At a meeting of opposition parties here on Saturday, local leaders announced their support to the bandh and appealed to the people of Thane to participate in it. Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) city unit chief Suhas Desai, Shiv Sena (UBT) city president Pradeep Shinde, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Ravindra More, Avinash Jadhav, Maratha Kranti Morcha city chief Ramesh Ambre and the Congress. City unit president Vikrant Chavan participated in the meeting.

Supreme Court had canceled Maratha reservation in 2021
It is noteworthy that the Maratha community was given reservation in Maharashtra government jobs and admission in educational institutions in the year 2018. At that time Fadnavis was the CM of the state. However, after this the Supreme Court canceled it in May 2021 citing other reasons including the total reservation limit being 50 percent. In this series, once again the Maratha community is agitating for the demand of reservation. While talking to the media in Antarwali Sarathi village, the agitators said that the movement will not be ended. He said that the entire village is protesting peacefully. He said that the CM of the state has constituted a committee regarding Maratha reservation, but it has not yet presented its report, that is why we are agitating.
