The petition of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will also be heard in the Supreme Court today. CM Arvind Kejriwal is lodged in Tihar jail in a money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy scam. Today his custody is ending, so ED will present him in Rouse Avenue Court. Kejriwal can demand bail in the court.

Hearing in Supreme Court

The petition of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is to be heard in the Supreme Court today. Kejriwal had filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court order validating the ED arrest, which will be heard today. According to media reports, the bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta will hear Kejriwal’s petition. Earlier on April 1, two cases related to Kejriwal were heard in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court and High Court. After the hearing, Kejriwal was sent to Tihar jail for 15 days.

Got a shock from Delhi High Court

It is noteworthy that on April 9, giving a blow to Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi High Court had rejected his petition. The court had said in its decision that investigation cannot be done separately against common people and special people. The court had made a strong comment on the matter and said that it cannot accept the argument of the Delhi CM that he has been arrested because of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The court also said that this issue should not be seen in the context of time, but only in the context of law.

Let us tell you, in the year 2021-22, the Delhi government had prepared a new excise policy. But there are allegations that there has been corruption and money laundering. However, the excise policy was later canceled. In this case, ED issued summons several times to interrogate CM Kejriwal, but Kejriwal did not join the ED’s interrogation every time, calling the summons illegal. After this ED filed a case in the court. ED had arrested Kejriwal in the case on March 21.
