She is doing all the administrative work 24 hours a day even while staying at home. Along with this, due to emergency in the state, holidays have also been canceled in important administrative departments. DVC has said that there is a possibility of more water being released in the next few days. Due to this, the risk of flood has also increased in seven-eight districts of the state. In such a situation, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held an important meeting with Nabanna on Wednesday afternoon. However, due to a leg injury, he held the meeting from his home in Kalighat.
Teesta water level suddenly increased
A sudden cloudburst over Lhonak Lake in North Sikkim on Wednesday morning caused a flash flood in Teesta river in Lachen valley, due to which 23 army personnel were washed away and their camp and vehicle got stuck in the mud. Due to that water flow, the water level of Teesta increased by 15-20 feet in a single moment. Due to which there is a fear that Teesta in North Bengal may impact the surrounding districts as well. Meanwhile, due to continuous low pressure rains, water has started accumulating in various areas of the state. DVC has released water to save the dam.
Chief Minister held an important meeting
State Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi and Special Advisor to the Chief Minister Alapan Banerjee held a meeting with Nabanna and the secretaries of other departments of Nabanna by putting them on phone speaker. There Mamta gave all necessary instructions to her secretaries. Mamta said, I cannot go out due to leg injury. Although I have appointed some ministers and administrative officers of the state. They are keeping an eye on the flood situation. Extra precautions have been taken in Medinipur, Sabang and Ghatal. I have also ordered to open two control rooms.
Chief Minister canceled holidays

Mamta Banerjee said, ‘I will tell those people who live in low-lying areas, please come from home to the safe shelter of the government camp. A state of emergency may arise in seven-eight districts.

But at the same time Mamata Banerjee said that disaster response teams have reached all the areas where there is a danger of floods. NDRF and SDRF teams have arrived. Mamta also said that keep a close eye on whether the electric wires have been broken due to rain water. Public safety is our first priority.
