Citroën E-C3 Shine trim gets upgraded in Indonesia, know when it will come to India

New Delhi : The Citroën E-C3 Shine trim has been launched in the Indonesian market. The Citroën e-C3 electric hatchback has been introduced in the Indonesian market with an updated Shine variant. To top it all, the updated Citroën e-C3 e-hatch is made in India and exported to Indonesia from the automaker’s Tamil Nadu plant. The new Shine trim brings cosmetic upgrades and more features to the model as compared to the lower feel variant with ‘Vibe’ pack already on sale.

Features and Wheels

Compared to the Feel Vibe pack, the Citroën e-C3 Shine variant adds electrically adjustable ORVMs, manually adjustable interior rearview mirrors (IRVMs), a rear defogger and a rear washer and wiper. This is in addition to the 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay already available on the Vibe pack. The Shine variant also brings new 15-inch alloy wheels shod with 195-section tyres, which makes the model better feature loaded than before.

Battery, Mileage and Speed

In terms of hardware, the Citroën E-C3 uses the same powertrain as the India-spec model. It comes with a 29.2 kWh powered battery pack that promises a range of 320 km (claimed) on a single charge. The electric offering uses a single motor tuned for 42 kW (56 bhp) and 143 Nm of peak torque. Top speed is rated at 107 kmph, while 0-60 kmph is achieved in 6.8 seconds.

The battery of the Citroën e-C3 is claimed to be fully charged in 57 minutes using fast charging, while home charging will take around 10.5 hours from 0-100 per cent. The automaker is offering 3 years/125,000 kms vehicle warranty along with 7 years/140,000 kms battery warranty on the E-C3. The price of the Citroën e-C3 Shine variant in Indonesia is 395 million Indonesian Rupiah (about Rs 21.4 lakh).

When will it be launched in India

The new e-C3 Shine variant is currently made for the Indonesian market only. Citroën India is yet to announce plans to bring this variant to the Indian market. Speculations are rife that the automaker may launch it in India this year around the festive season. The Citroen e-C3 price in India ranges between Rs 11.5 Lakh to Rs 12.68 Lakh (Ex-showroom, India).

Deliveries of the Citroën EC3 car begin in India

Let us tell you that the deliveries have started at the Citroën EC3 car dealerships in India. Customers can book it by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. Customers can also take a test drive of this electric car. The price of Citroen EC3 starts at Rs 11.50 Lakh and goes up to Rs 12.43 Lakh (introductory ex-showroom). The Citroen EC3 is available in two variants Live and Feel. Its boot space is 315 liters. The ground clearance of this electric hatchback is 170 mm.

Battery Pack, Electric Motor, Range and Charging

Electric C3 has a 29.2 kWh battery pack. It is powered by an electric motor, which generates 57PS of power and 143Nm of torque. Its ARAI certified range in full charge is 320 km. It takes 10 hours 30 minutes to charge its battery from 0 to 100 percent with a 15 ampere plug point. Its battery takes 57 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent with a DC fast charger.
