CISF is responsible for the security of Parliament, has a special connection with Ranchi’s HEC, know special things about the force.

After the incident of lapse in security of Parliament on 13 December, the government has taken a big decision. Center took charge of security Central Industrial Security Force It has been decided to hand it over to (CISF). It is being told that both the new and old Parliament complexes and their associated buildings will be brought under extensive security cover of CISF, which will include Parliament Security Service (PSS), Delhi Police and Parliament Duty Group (PDG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Will also be present.

CISF team will soon start survey along with the team engaged in security of Parliament.

CISF fire and rescue officials along with experts from the Government Building Security (GBS) unit of CISF, which guards central government ministries, and officials from the current Parliament security team will begin the survey later this week.

Why was CISF entrusted with the security of Parliament?

In fact, a major security lapse occurred on December 13, the anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attack on Parliament. Two persons jumped from the audience gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber during Zero Hour, released yellow smoke from ‘canes’ and raised slogans. At the same time, two other people raised slogans and released colored smoke from ‘canes’ outside the Parliament complex. However, all the six accused involved in the incident were immediately arrested. At present the interrogation of all the accused is going on.

  • The CISF is a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) that currently guards establishments under the nuclear and aerospace domain, civil airports and the Delhi Metro, as well as several central ministry buildings in Delhi.

  • CISF was established in 1969. At present 1,73,355 soldiers are employed in this force.

  • CISF currently provides security to 358 establishments across the country.

  • CISF also has its own fire wing

  • CISF has a special connection with Ranchi’s HEC.

  • Ranchi’s HEC has a special connection with the establishment of CISF. In fact, in June 1964, there was a massive fire in the Heavy Engineering Corporation plant in Ranchi. As a result, CISF was established by an Act of Parliament on March 10, 1969, following the recommendation of the Justice Mukherjee Commission.

  • CISF One of the seven Central Armed Police Forces – CISF is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
