CID interrogated former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, security increased outside Rajamahendravaram jail.

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials of Andhra Pradesh Police have arrested Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N in the Skill Development Corporation scam. Chandrababu Naidu Interrogation started in the Central Jail on Saturday. Security arrangements have been tightened outside the jail for the interrogation of Naidu.

Chandrababu Naidu is on CID remand for two days

An Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Vijayawada on Friday sent 73-year-old Naidu to two-day CID custody for further questioning. Permission to interrogate Naidu has been given from 9.30 am to 5 pm on both days (23 and 24 September).

Professional videographers will be present during Naidu’s interrogation

The court has allowed three deputy superintendents of police from the Economic Offenses Wing of CID, six junior police officers, a professional videographer and two official mediators to participate in the interrogation. The court ordered a five-minute break after every hour of questioning and during the questioning Chandrababu Naidu A team of lawyers has also been approved to be present along with him. The court directed the CID to allow Naidu’s lawyer to be present at a reasonable distance during his custody.

Naidu is being interrogated in jail considering his health and age.

Considering the health and age of the former Chief Minister, permission has been granted to interrogate him in the jail premises itself so that he can avoid the 200 kilometer journey from Rajamahendravaram Central Jail to the CID office in Mangalagiri.

Naidu will appear in court virtually on Sunday at 5 pm

After completion of the police custody period, the court directed the CID to present Naidu in the court through virtual medium before 5 pm on Sunday. Naidu was arrested on September 9 on charges of alleged irregularities in the Skill Development Corporation. It is alleged that these irregularities caused a loss of more than Rs 300 crore to the exchequer.
