Child sacrifice attempt in Jharkhand, accused fined 8000 in Gram Sabha meeting

A case of attempt to sacrifice an eight-year-old child has come to light in Murhu police station area of ​​Khunti district. The incident is of June 1. Khunti resident social worker Lakshmi Bakhala has made a written complaint to the CID headquarters and the Khunti SP regarding the matter. Along with the investigation, action has been demanded against the guilty.

In a written complaint, Lakshmi Bakhala has told the police that Soma Kumhar saved her eight-year-old child from being killed in Marung Toli village under Murhu police station area. Soma Kumhar’s son went missing on June 1. He reached Rainu Singh’s house in search of his son. There he found his son in a strange condition. He made noise and called the villagers. After this there was a meeting of the Gram Sabha, in which Rainu Singh accepted the attempt of sacrifice.

Also apologized for not doing so in future. According to Lakshmi Bakhala, she took information about the matter from village head Peter Munda. He came to know that a fine of Rs.8000 was imposed on the accused in the Gram Sabha meeting. Also, there was an agreement not to file a police case. On getting this information, Lakshmi Bakhala contacted Murhu police station in-charge. The station in-charge told that the matter is very old. An agreement was made between the two parties in the Gram Sabha meeting. The police had not received any complaint in this matter.

The accused was caught on the charge of trying to sacrifice a child and was called to the Gram Sabha, where he was also punished.
