Block level seminar cum master trainer training workshop was held in Sonua block office on Monday on the topic ‘Safe Childhood, Happy Life’ regarding child protection. It was presided over by BDO Girivar Minj. The objective of the program is to stop child marriage and labour, curb child trafficking, stop child sexual crimes and make children drug free. Dr. Krishna Kumar Tiwari said that the state government is running a campaign. BDO said that children should not be married at an early age. It has adverse effects on society and health. Sonua’s Para Legal Volunteer Rajshekhar said that information related to child crime should be given on 112 or Child Line 1098. Appropriate action will be taken. Para-legal volunteers Shweta Ravani and Angela Kandulna of Chakradharpur and Goilkera said that the bad practices have to be ended. Program Block Education Extension Officer, trained teacher Saroj Kumar Mahato, outreach worker Jagarnath Poddar, Sahiya, Sevika, Manki-Munda, teachers of Education Department, Aspire organization personnel and block office personnel were present.
