Ranchi: The foundation day of Jharkhand State Food Commission is on 9th December. On this occasion, the chiefs who have done excellent work in the successful implementation and monitoring of the National Food Security Act-2013 in all the districts of Jharkhand will be honored. Today on Tuesday, Chairman of Jharkhand State Food Commission Himanshu Shekhar Chaudhary gave this information in the meeting held in the hall of the Commission’s office. He said that a total of eight criteria were fixed for the selection of the chief doing excellent work. On the basis of these criteria, the headman who is in the first, second and third place at the district level has to be selected. A selection committee will be constituted in all the districts to award marks on the basis of prescribed criteria.

Giving information, Chairman of Jharkhand State Food Commission Himanshu Shekhar Chaudhary said that the criteria will be set for the selection of chief for the first, second and third prize of the districts. Himanshu Shekhar Chowdhary said that the chief has an important role in better implementation and better monitoring of the schemes covered by the National Food Security Act-2013. With the aim of making all the heads of the state aware of their responsibilities, the Food Commission has decided to honor the heads of all the districts of the state.

Jharkhand State Food Commission Chairman Himanshu Shekhar Chowdhary said that after detailed discussion in the meeting, a total of eight criteria were decided for the selection of the chief doing excellent work. On the basis of these criteria, the headman who is in the first, second and third place at the district level has to be selected. It has also been decided in the meeting that the district level selection committee will select three excellent chiefs on the basis of the work done by the chiefs during the period between October 2022 and September 2023.

It was also decided in the meeting of the Jharkhand State Food Commission that a selection committee will be formed in all the districts to award marks based on the prescribed criteria for honoring the chief. The chairman of the selection committee will be the Additional Collector-cum-District Grievance Redressal Officer, while the District Panchayati Raj Officer, the District Public Information Officer, and two prominent social workers working in schemes related to the National Food Security Act will be members. Their nomination will be done by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district.
After completing the selection process by November 15, the Deputy Commissioner should make the list available.
