Chhattisgarh: Three security forces personnel were injured in an encounter with Naxalites. Police officials said that three security forces personnel were injured in an encounter with Naxalites in the forest under Chhotabethiya police station area of the district. He said that a joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and District Reserve Guard (DRG) was sent on anti-Naxal operation in Chhotabethiya area. When the team was in the area, the Naxalites started firing in which two soldiers were injured.
Top commander of Naxalites killed
It is being told that the top commander of Naxalites has also been killed in the encounter with security forces. Police had placed a reward of Rs 25 lakh on top Naxalite commander Shankar Sao, who was killed in an encounter with security forces. BSF said, bodies of 29 CPI Maoist cadres killed during the encounter in Kanker have been recovered. 7 AK series rifles and 3 light machine guns have been recovered from the spot. During the encounter, a BSF personnel was shot in the leg and is out of danger after being evacuated.

Chhattisgarh Deputy CM Vijay Sharma said, a large number of Naxalites have been killed. I want to congratulate the security forces. We all are working under the leadership of CM Vishnudev Sai. Central HM Amit Shah is giving us guidance. Whatever is necessary will be done for action against Naxalites. There will be no delay. In the coming times, every possible effort will be made for Naxal-free Bastar. The government is ready for talks. A solution should be found through dialogue and discussion and there should be peace in Bastar.
First phase of voting in Chhattisgarh on April 19
The encounter between security forces and Naxalites has taken place at a time when the first phase of voting is to be held there after three days. Lok Sabha elections are to be held in Chhattisgarh in three phases. In the first phase, voting is to be held in Bastar, the only Lok Sabha seat, on April 19. After that, the second phase of voting will be held on April 26 in Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund and Kanker. Whereas voting for the third and last phase will be held on May 7 in Surguja, Raigarh, Janjgir Champa, Korba, Bilaspur, Durg and Raipur of the state. There are total 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh.

Police in Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh have announced that those who help the police in arresting or killing Naxalites will be recruited as constables and will be given a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh. It is written in the pamphlet distributed in the Naxal affected villages of this district bordering Madhya Pradesh, give information and get reward. If Naxalites are caught by any person or if Naxalites are killed in an encounter on his information, then that person will be given a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh and a government job by Kabirdham Police and on surrender, he will be given a cash reward. Kabirdham district superintendent of police Abhishek Pallav said, ‘We have distributed pamphlets and pasted posters of our new proposal in Maoist-affected villages in the last two days. We have also sent messages on WhatsApp to mobile phone users in Naxal-affected villages of the district. He said, ‘Rs 5 lakh will be immediately given to the villagers for providing information that leads to the arrest or killing of the Maoist. This amount will be in addition to the reward announced by the state/central government on any Naxalite.
