Chhattisgarh: Police arrested the headmaster accused of making people take oath not to believe in Hindu gods.

Bilaspur: Recently a news came out from Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh which was discussed a lot. In fact, a person was accused of hurting religious sentiments by allegedly making people take an oath of not believing in Hindu gods and adopting Buddhism. This person has been arrested by the police. The accused is a 60-year-old headmaster of a government school against whom action has been taken. Police gave this information on Monday. The incident took place on January 22 following which the District Education Officer suspended Ratanlal Sarovar, who was the headmaster of a government primary school in Bharari village, an official said.

Action on complaint of Rupesh Shukla

They allegedly made him take an oath not to worship Hindu deities, including Lord Shiva, Ram and Krishna, and to follow Buddhism, a police officer said, quoting a complaint by Rupesh Shukla, an official of a right-wing organisation. He said that this incident came to light after a video of Sarovar’s alleged act went viral on social media. The officer said that it has been claimed in the complaint that his act has hurt the sentiments of the followers of Sanatan Dharma.

Sarovar was arrested on Sunday

Based on the complaint, Sarovar was arrested on Sunday. The official said that a case has been registered against the headmaster under Indian Penal Code sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, etc. and doing acts prejudicial to maintaining harmony) and 295A (outraging religious feelings of any class). A case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code.
