Chhattisgarh News: 12 people, including three women, died and 14 were injured when a bus fell into a mine in Durg district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday. Police officials gave this information. President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai have expressed grief over the incident. Durg District Superintendent of Police Jitendra Shukla said that 12 people traveling in the vehicle have died and 14 have been injured after the bus fell into a red clay mine near Khapri village under Kumhari police station area. Earlier, the Superintendent of Police had informed about the death of 15 people in the accident. However, he later said that some names had been included more than once in the list of the dead.

More than 30 employees boarded the bus

Police officials said that the bus of Kedia Distilleries located in Kumhari area had left with the employees and more than 30 employees were on board the bus. Officials said that the incident occurred at 8.30 pm on Tuesday night when the bus reached near Khapri village and went out of control and fell into the 40 feet deep Murom mine. According to the police, after getting information about the incident, a police team was sent to the spot and rescue operations were started. Initially there was difficulty in the rescue operation due to darkness at the spot. After some time, the State Disaster Response Force and police took out the dead bodies and injured with the help of local people. He said that the dead bodies and injured have been sent to the hospital and efforts are being made to take out the bus from the mine.

12 people died in the accident

Durg District Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary said that 12 people have died and 14 others have been injured in this incident. Of the injured, 12 have been admitted to Raipur All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Chaudhary said that a magisterial inquiry will be conducted into the matter and action will be taken against those responsible for it. He told that after the accident, talks have been held with the industry management. The management has assured compensation to the victims of the accident. Compensation will be announced by the administration. Employing a family member from the industry has also been discussed. President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai have expressed grief over the incident.
