Security forces have killed a woman Naxalite in an encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Kanker district. Police officials informed about this today. Giving information, police officials said that a woman Naxalite has been killed in an encounter by the security forces near Binagunda village under Chhote Bethia police station area of the district.

Police officials said that on the information of Naxalite activity in Chhote Bethia police station area, yesterday, a joint team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) of Kanker and 132nd Battalion of Border Security Force was sent to Amatola, Binagunda in the eastern area of Kotri river for anti-Naxal operation. And was sent towards Kalpar village.

Maoists started firing
Police officials told that when the security forces personnel were near Binagunda village at around 7 am today, the Naxalites started firing on them. The security forces retaliated. Officials told that after some time the Naxalites fled. Later, when the security forces searched the spot, the body of a woman Naxalite, a .303 bore rifle and other items were recovered from there. Police officials told that the operation against Naxalites is going on in the area.
