However, Mahindra has not changed the prices of the base diesel model AX (O) and LX petrol AT variants.

The new Mahindra Thar 2WD gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine that generates 117 Bhp power. The company has given a 6-speed manual gearbox in this model, diesel automatic is available in the expensive 4X4 variant of Thar. The petrol variant of Thar 2WD has got a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with standard 4WD, which is quite powerful, the company has given 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox options with this engine.
How different is the Thar 2WD from the Thar 4WD?
Talking about the looks of Mahindra Thar, its 2WD and 4WD look almost identical. The only difference is the 4-wheel drive badging.
