Chatra: Militants set fire to Poklane engaged in trench cutting, causing loss worth lakhs

Militants have once again created a ruckus in the district. This time, on Friday night, in Ara village of Mokatma Panchayat of Sadar police station area, militants set on fire a Poklane machine engaged in trench work. The militants carried out the incident regarding levy. The Poklane machine belonged to Janardan Yadav, a resident of Lohri village of Gidhaur police station area. There has been a loss of Rs 30-35 lakh due to burning of Poklane machine. After getting information about the incident, Trainee DSP Wasim Raza, Sadar Police Station Incharge Manohar Karmali reached the spot and took information about the matter. According to the information, trench cutting work was being done in Ara forest border area since December 1. Machine operator Vikas Kumar Yadav’s house is near the workplace. When he suddenly came out of the house at 11.30 pm, seeing a bright light, he saw that the Poklane machine was burning. This information was given to the Poklane machine owner. The machine was burnt before the owner reached it. In this regard, forest guard Anjali Kumari registered a case against unknown criminals. The police have started a campaign to nab the criminals involved in the incident. The station in-charge said that the incident was carried out by criminals. A case has been registered on the basis of the forest ranger’s application.
