In the schemes operated by MNREGA, work is being done with JCB machines instead of labourers, due to which the laborers are not getting work. JCB machine is being used instead of laborers in the common horticulture scheme operated under MNREGA in Madan Yadav’s farm at Tari, situated on the banks of Nilanjana river of Urali Panchayat. Pit is being dug with JCB for plantation. It is a scheme with a cost of four lakh 19 thousand.
Under the plan, the said work is to be done by laborers, but JCB is being used. MNREGA laborers are not getting employment due to the work being done by machines in the scheme, due to which the laborers here are forced to migrate. Although the central and state governments are running schemes to provide employment to the laborers, but the laborers are not getting the benefit of it.
JCB is being used in MNREGA with the connivance of MNREGA officials and beneficiaries. JCB is being used in MNREGA-run schemes in other places of the block as well. Employment worker Anoop Samdarshi told that the Geo tag of the scheme has not been done. There is no information about the use of JCB machine in the plan.
