To address privacy concerns, OpenAI emphasizes user control over ChatGPT’s memory. Users can review information about stored data, request deletion of data, or even activate a “temporary chat” mode for secret conversations. Additionally, the new “Manage Memory” section within Settings provides detailed controls over stored data, ensuring that sensitive information remains secure. By default, memory functionality will be enabled, in which OpenAI will take advantage of stored data to refine its models. Although ChatGPT’s enterprise and team users will retain control over their data, no information will be shared over the centralized model.
