OpenAI has applied for a patent for a new trademark. According to the news, the US Patent and Trademark Office filing presented in the third week of last month shows that work is going on on the large language model.
Chat GPT-4 is only a few months old at this point in time though. There is currently no information about the technical details of GPT-5. It is believed that a huge improvement can be seen in this new generation model.

OpenAI’s GPT-5 trademark application claims it is capable of developing, running and analyzing algorithms. It is capable of learning to analyse, classify and take action in response to exposure to data.
According to the news, it is also used for a very broad description of the trademark Generative AI. It can be used for the development and execution of artificial neural networks.
