Chardham Yatra: Devotees thronged Chardham Yatra, more than 5 lakh people visited

Dehradun : Chardham Yatra has been started once again in Uttarakhand after the weather has cleared and the road has been opened. Devotees are thronging for Chardham Yatra. According to the data released by the tourism department, since the commencement of the yatra on April 27 till the evening of Sunday i.e. May 7, more than five lakh devotees have visited Chardham. Most of these devotees have visited Kedarnath Dham. After this, devotees visited Badrinath Dham and Gangotri-Yamunotri on the second number.

Maximum number of devotees visited Kedarnath

According to the figures released by the tourism department, from April 22 to May 7, about 5,05,286 pilgrims visited Chardham. Of these, maximum 1.75 lakh devotees visited Kedarnath Dham. In the data released by the department, it has been said that from April 22 to May 7, more than 5,05,286 devotees visited Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. In this, 1.75 lakh devotees worshiped in Kedarnath Dham, more than 1.18 lakh in Badrinath, 1.13 lakh in Gangotri, 1 lakh in Yamunotri.

Investigation continues by the health department

On the other hand, it has been said by the Health Department that screening of the devotees being done on the routes of Chardham Yatra is being done, in which high blood pressure, asthma, respiratory diseases are being checked. After investigation, 33 pilgrims were advised not to travel to Kedarnath and Yamunotri Dham by the Health Department. So far, the health check-up of more than 40,000 passengers above 55 years has been done on the Yatra route. The Health Department is checking the health of the pilgrims en route to visit Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham.

Health checkup of 82 thousand devotees

According to the data released by the Tourism Department, during the Chardham Yatra from April 22 to May 6, more than 40,000 pilgrims above the age of 55 years and 42,000 pilgrims below the age of 54 years were screened. Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Secretary Health, Government of Uttarakhand told the media that all the pilgrims above 55 years of age coming for the Chardham Yatra are being examined at the medical care point.
