When will Chaitra Navratri start?

Chaitra Navratri starts from the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, this year the Pratipada date of Chaitra Shukla Paksha will start on 08th April at 11.50 pm. Pratipada Tithi will end on April 09 at 08:30 in the evening. According to Udaya Tithi, the auspicious time for Ghatasthapana on April 09 is from 06:02 am to 10:16 am, apart from this, Abhijeet Muhurta is from 11:57 am to 12:48 pm. You can do Ghatasthapana in both these auspicious times.

This auspicious yoga is being formed

On the first day of Chaitra Navratri, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga and Amrit Siddhi Yoga are being formed. On this day, Amrit and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga are being formed from 07:32 in the morning. Both these yogas are till 05.06 in the evening. Let us tell you that on the first day of Chaitra Navratri, Goddess Durga is invoked by doing Ghatasthapana and jowars are sown. Devotees worship the Mother Goddess by fasting for 9 days. On this day, the festival of Gudi Padwa is celebrated in Maharashtra and Ugadi in Andhra Pradesh-Karnataka.

Method of worshiping nine forms of Mother Goddess for nine days of Chaitra Navratri

Nine different forms of Maa Jagadambe, the mother of the world, are worshiped for nine days of Chaitra Navratri. There are nine incarnations of Maa Durga – Maa Shailputri, Maa Brahmacharini, Maa Chandraghanta, Maa Kushmanda, Maa Skandamata, Maa Katyayani, Maa Kalratri, Maa Siddhidatri and Maa Mahagauri. The festival of Ram Navami is celebrated on the last day of Chaitra Navratri i.e. Navami Tithi.

Install the Kalash in the east or north direction or in the north-east corner.

  • To establish the Kalash, spread a red cloth on the puja platform.

  • Install the Kalash by putting water, Ganga water, coin, Roli, turmeric lump, Durva, betel nut in the Kalash.
  • Place 5 mango leaves in the vase and cover it. Keep Kalava tied in coconut on top.
  • Put clean soil in a vessel and sow 7 types of grains and keep it on a post.
  • At the end, light the lamp and invoke Lord Ganesha, Mother Goddess and Navagrahas. Then worship the goddess as per the rituals.
