Central government’s Diwali gift to MNREGA workers, outstanding wages will be paid soon

Ranchi: On the occasion of Diwali, MNREGA workers of the state have got a big relief. The central government has given about Rs 620 crore to Jharkhand to pay the outstanding wages to MNREGA workers. This amount has been given under the second and third installment of the current financial year. Rs 252.27 crore has been given as the second installment and Rs 368.35 crore has been given as the third installment. The dues of the workers will be paid from this amount. The Government of India has given its share under MNREGA. Jharkhand had already given its share.

The workers were upset and had left work:

The workers of the state were not getting wages for four-five months. After the money came from the Center in September, some amount was paid to the workers, but most of the workers’ money was pending. Even after working, he did not get the money. Therefore, a large number of workers were leaving MNREGA work and going to work in the market.

There was pressure on employment servants for payment:

There is a lot of anger among the workers due to non-payment of wages. They are continuously pressurizing the employment servants for payment of wages. In such a situation, employment servants are also reluctant to go to the village. Employment servants told that the situation has become very bad. Now after receiving the amount the situation will become normal.
