Central government is saving Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait alleges

Leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Rakesh Tikait on Saturday accused the central government of shielding outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is facing sexual harassment allegations. Sakshi MalikTop wrestlers of the country, including Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, have accused Brij Bhushan of sexual harassment and threats.

Tikait attacked the center

Accusing the wrestlers who rebelled against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of being under government pressure, Rakesh Tikait accused the central government of trying to save the BJP MP. Tikait told reporters here on the sidelines of the three-day Kisan Mahakumbh that the khap panchayats will support whatever decision the wrestlers and the agitation committee take.

lengthening of movement reduces its strength

Tikait said, ‘The Center is engaged in saving Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. This fact is also evident in the charge sheet filed against him. When the government has made up its mind to save someone, it has many ways to do so. The wrestlers had held talks with the government and were assured of action. Wrestlers are doing government jobs. They were agitating for a long time. When a movement goes on for so long, it loses strength and players compromise which happened in this case.

Accused of threatening the family of a minor

On Saturday itself, protesting wrestler Sakshi Malik released a video message alleging that the family of the minor victim has been threatened. Because of this, he has changed his statements. Sakshi said that the players have been facing threats and harassment for the last several years. Due to lack of solidarity, the wrestlers did not raise their voice earlier. He said that we will take justice in any situation.
