Competition Commission started investigation against Google: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has started an investigation into Google’s allegation of non-compliance of its direction given in October last year regarding Android Play Store policies. The competition regulator has issued a show cause notice to Google seeking answers on some points. The internet company has been asked to respond within four weeks.

The source said that non-compliance of the CCI order is considered a serious matter and if Google is found guilty in this, fines and punitive steps can be taken.

The Competition Commission, in its order dated October 25, 2022, imposed a fine of Rs 936.44 crore after finding Google guilty of abusing its dominance on Android’s Playstore. Along with this, he had asked Google to stay away from unfair business activities.
