CBI registers case against 24 people in passport ‘forgery’ case, raids 50 places

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against 24 people, including government officials and other persons, for issuing passports on the basis of fake documents. According to information received from CBI sources, CBI is also raiding 50 places in West Bengal and Gangtok in this case. According to officials, the CBI has also detained an officer posted in Gangtok and a middleman. He said that the names of 24 persons, including 16 officials, are included in the FIR lodged in the case of issuing passports on the basis of forged documents to ineligible persons, including non-residents, by allegedly taking bribes. According to the officials, Kolkata, Siliguri, Gangtok And raids are being conducted at other places.
