CBI investigation in Vijay Hansda and Lemon Pahad case put on hold for now, hearing on February 9

During the hearing, senior Supreme Court advocate Kapil Sibal, state Advocate General Rajesh Ranjan and advocate Piyush Chitresh argued on behalf of the state government. At the same time, Anil Kumar presented the side of CBI. During the hearing of the case, the state government said that the CBI investigation was against the rules. An argument was presented on behalf of the government that under ‘Section 6 of the Delhi Police Establishment Act’, the CBI requires the permission of the state government to investigate any case. The state government has withdrawn the order issued in the year 2020, in which the CBI was given the right to investigate in the state without the permission of the government. CBI has not taken permission from the state government to investigate the FIR lodged by Vijay Hansda. Therefore, CBI investigation is not as per the rules.
