Prices of Kia Seltos and Carens may increase by up to 2 percent
Kia Motors India Has said that the prices of Seltos and Carens will be increased by up to 2 percent. This is the second time that Kia has announced a price increase of its models during the current financial year. The prices of other Kia models like Sonet, Carnival and EV6 will remain the same for now.
The top-end variant of Carens is priced at ₹18.90 lakh.
The Kia Carens was launched by the carmaker in India in February 2022 as a recreational vehicle. Launch price started at ₹8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, after several hikes over the last 18 months, the price of the entry-level Car has increased to ₹10.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the top-end variant goes up to ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The top-end variant of Seltos is priced at ₹19.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia launched the updated Seltos SUV in July this year at a starting price of ₹ 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom). To meet the demand before the festive season, the carmaker on Wednesday introduced two new variants of the SUV. The two variants, priced between ₹19.40 lakh and ₹19.60 lakh, will sit just below the top-spec variant of the SUV priced at ₹19.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Prices of Kia Seltos and Carens may increase by 20 to 40 thousand
However, Kia has not told which variant of Seltos will see the price increase. However, a 2 percent price hike could increase the price of the base variant by more than ₹20,000. In case of top variants, the price can increase up to Rs 40,000.
Why are the prices of Kia Seltos and Carens being increased?
Kia said that the increase in prices has become necessary amid the rising cost of production. Hardeep S Brar, National Head (Sales and Marketing), Kia India, said, “Although many companies have already increased prices after April, we have not… Besides, raw material prices are also increasing. ” On top of that.. and we introduced the new Seltos and a lot of investment has been made in the product.. so we feel it is time to increase the prices.
