Patna. Action will be taken against the vendors manufacturing vehicle registration plates illegally across the state. In this regard, Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal has given instructions to all DMs, SSPs and SPs. The Transport Secretary has said that it has been found in the information received from the districts that against the standard, vehicle registration plates are being manufactured at the local level and registration numbers are being marked. Along with this, instead of the original registration number of vehicles, fake number plates of other registration numbers are being made in shops, shops on footpaths.

Take action according to the Central Motor Vehicle Rules

The Transport Secretary has directed all the DMs, SSPs, SPs to take strict action against the local vendors of HSRP being manufactured illegally and registration plates being made on the footpath for violation of Rule-50 and 51 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules. And such type of vehicle number plates being manufactured and being installed should be banned.

It is illegal to write boss, father etc. on the number plate in a fancy way

The Transport Secretary said that it is illegal to write different registration numbers in different ways in a fancy way on the number plate of the vehicle. Tampering the registration number on the number plate of many vehicles, they operate the vehicle by marking Boss, Papa etc.

Curbing fake HSRP plates is necessary for crime prevention. Due to fake number plates being fitted, there is delay in getting information regarding the vehicle in case of accident etc., due to which research is delayed.

In Rule-50 and 51 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, provision has been made regarding HSRP and it is mandatory for every vehicle owner to install HSRP on his vehicle as per the above provision. The Transport Department has made a provision for taking mitigation action on such vehicles, considering it a violation of Section-177 and Section-179 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, if the vehicle is operated without HSRP.

Nowadays, this type of barcoding is done on all the number plates of all the new vehicles that come out. So that it can be used from the point of view of security. Helmet survey will be done in all districts from September 5

Patna. There will be a survey of two-wheeler drivers wearing helmets across the state from September 5. In districts where the number of helmet wearers is less, notice will be issued to DTOs and MVIs. The Transport Department has given this order to all the districts. The concern of the government is that the habit of wearing helmets completely in the districts is not increasing among the vehicle drivers despite continuous investigation and awareness campaign under road safety.

More deaths in road accidents due to not wearing a helmet

It has been seen across the state that vehicle drivers do not wear helmets. By the way, the news of death of drivers on the spot in road accidents is more frequent. Departmental review has found that people still shy away from wearing helmets in all rural areas except the urban areas of the state. The strictness of the department will increase in all such districts and the process of canceling the license will be expedited along with collecting challans from the drivers.

Survey work will start from next month

According to departmental officials, the work of helmet survey will start from next month. Along with this, the investigation campaign will be intensified and people will be made aware of the traffic rules by taking fine from them. Officials told that the survey work is likely to start from September 5.
