Cadila Pharma: Rape case registered against CMD of Cadila Pharma, accused of wrongdoing in office bathroom

Cadila Pharma CMD: The troubles of Cadila Pharmaceuticals Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Rajiv Modi have increased. Giving information about the matter, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) HM Kansagra said that at present they can only investigate the matter and submit the report to the High Court. The CMD of an Ahmedabad-based pharma company was booked on Sunday under sections 376 (rape), 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 504 (intentional insult to provoke peace) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A case was registered under IPC. A case was registered against the CMD of the said company and one of his employees at Sola police station in the city after the Gujarat High Court directed the police on December 22. The police officer said that following the instructions of the Honorable Gujarat High Court, we have registered a case against Cadila Pharma CMD Rajeev Modi and another person named Johnson Mathew on the basis of the complaint of the victim. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Lavina Sinha said that the court had directed a police investigation into the case under CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure), after which an FIR (First Information Report) was registered. The High Court had said in its order of December 22 that the investigation should be completed within two months.
