Bye-elction: Announcement of by-election for Ghosi assembly seat, voting on September 5, counting of votes will be done in eight

Lucknow. The Election Commission of India has announced the bye-election for the Ghosi assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh. Voting will be held on September 5 for the vacant seat due to the resignation of former minister Dara Singh Chauhan. The Commission on Tuesday issued notification for bye-elections to the Legislative Assembly seats that have fallen vacant due to various reasons in seven states. Along with this, the Model Code of Conduct has been implemented in Mau with immediate effect. According to the guidelines of the Election Commission, the code of conduct is to be implemented immediately in the district whose assembly constituency has polling.

The seat was vacated by the resignation letter of Dara Singh Chauhan

Dara Singh Chauhan was elected MLA from Mau’s Ghosi assembly seat on a Samajwadi Party ticket. A few days ago he left Samajwadi Party and joined BJP. Before joining BJP, he had resigned from the membership of the Legislative Assembly, due to which this seat was running vacant. The nomination process for the by-election will start from August 10. August 17 will be the last date for nominations. The date of screening of nominations has been fixed on August 18. Nominations can be withdrawn on August 21. Voting will be held on Thursday, September 5. The counting of votes will be done on September 8. The election process will be completed on 10 September 23. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VVPATs The Commission has decided to use EVMs and VVPATs in the bye-elections at all polling stations. – Smart card issued by RGI under NPR, Indian passport,

– Official ID cards issued to MPs, MLAs, MLCs

Must provide information regarding criminal background

Candidates with criminal background have to publish the information thrice during the campaign period through newspapers and television channels. If the political party gives ticket to a person who has a criminal background, then information about the criminal background of the candidates will have to be published thrice on the website of the party and on newspapers and television channels.
