Bus stand ready in Seraikela since last one year, still lying deserted – BollywoodWallah

Seraikela: A new bus stand was built near Jhumkeshwari Temple on the banks of Kharkai River in Seraikela at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore. It remains deserted even after a year of inauguration. Passenger buses are not stopping at the stand. Even today, buses and passenger vehicles are being parked here and there on the roadside as before. Buses ply from Seraikela to Kharsawan, Chaibasa, Jamshedpur, Rajnagar and the neighboring state of Odisha.

There is no bypass road to reach the stand

A new bus stand has been constructed by the Urban Development Department. All facilities including ticket counter, boundary wall, seating arrangements for passengers, toilets are available in the bus stand. Even after this, buses are not going here. Bus operators say that there is no bypass road to reach the place where the stand has been constructed. Going to the bus stand through the main market is not without danger. Firstly, the road has become narrow due to encroachment and on top of that, there is jam in the market every day due to crowd. For this reason buses do not take them to the stand.

Stand not made at the right place

Bus operators say that vehicles will have to cover an additional distance of six kilometers to reach the place where the stand has been constructed. This will be a huge waste of time. There will also be loss of fuel. The operators said that if the bus stand had been constructed by marking a place on the side of the main road, the utility would have been meaningful.

The bus stand is ready, the department is making efforts to ensure that buses and maxi taxis stop there soon. Mahesh Jarika, City Manager Seraikela Nagar Panchayat
