A special campaign against encroachment will start in Patna city from Thursday. The special campaign to remove encroachment will continue till March 2. Five teams have been formed for this. Patna Divisional Commissioner Kumar Ravi has directed to take action against encroachment in the city. On the instructions of the Commissioner, DM headed Kapil Ashok and SSP Rajeev Mishra have formed five teams. This will be a multi-agency campaign.
Legal action will be taken against those who commit irregularities
The work of removing encroachment will be carried out in Patna Municipal Corporation’s Nutan Rajdhani zone, Patliputra, Kankarbagh and Bankipur zone besides Municipal Council Danapur. The Commissioner has directed to deal strictly with those who create obstacles in the encroachment eradication campaign. He has asked to take legal action against such elements. To remove public nuisance, take action by giving notice under Section 133 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on the basis of the report received from the police.
These will be included in the campaign
Officials and personnel of various departments including administration, municipal corporation, traffic police, transport, revenue, road construction, health, police, fire brigade, bridge construction corporation, telecommunication, forest division, electricity will be included in the campaign. Each team will include magistrate, police officials. Women force, police force and lathi force have also been deployed. Executive officials, city managers, chief sanitation inspectors, videographers have been deployed from the municipal bodies.
The campaign will run till March 2
In this phase, the special campaign to remove encroachment will continue till March 2. Roster wise team will run the campaign for action in different areas. The action taken to remove encroachment will be reviewed daily by the Commissioner. Further action will be taken after assessing the results of the campaign.
Videography will be done to remove encroachment
The Commissioner said that the police station incharges have to record the details of removal of encroachment in the station diary. Before running the campaign, SDO has to conduct miking in the area. The entire process of removing encroachment will be videographed. Along with confiscation of the goods used in encroachment, fine will be imposed as per rules. After removal of encroachment, SDO and Police Station Heads have to ensure that there is no re-encroachment in the concerned area.
Special vehicle checking campaign will also run
The traffic police has to run a special vehicle checking campaign during the encroachment removal campaign. A four-member monitoring cell has been formed to conduct the encroachment eradication campaign. This includes ADM Law and Order, Traffic SP, Additional Municipal Commissioner and City Magistrate-cum-Incharge Magistrate.
