Budget 2024: Bihar will get Rs 7500 crore from interest free loan scheme, know what else got in the Union Budget

Patna. Apart from the Cap Ex fund made in the Union Interim Budget, out of the Rs 75 thousand crore arranged for interest free loan, Bihar will get about Rs 7500 crore interest free loan. This will be a long term loan and its liability will be for 50 years. With this amount, works related to construction and infrastructure can be done. Under interest free loan the amount is paid in two installments. After receiving the amount of the first installment, the amount of the second installment is released after giving the utilization certificate of 75 percent of that amount.

Capital expenditure will increase in infrastructure construction in Bihar

Under this, Bihar has received Rs 8455 crore in the financial year 2022-23 and Rs 6200 crore in the financial year 2023-24 as interest free loan. According to the information, capital expenditure for the development of infrastructure in Bihar will increase with the Rs 7500 crore received from the Centre. This amount can be spent on construction of roads, construction of buildings, development of industrial areas etc. Regarding the use of this amount, other construction related topics will also be included in future.

Capital expenditure increased three times in four years

At the same time, according to the interim budget presented by the Union Finance Minister, the capital expenditure for the year 2024-25 has been increased by 11.1 percent to Rs 11,11,111 crore. This is 3.4 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). Apart from this, the tripling of capital expenditure (capex) in the last four years will have a huge multiplier effect on economic growth and employment generation in the country. Bihar will also benefit from this. Bihar will also get funds from the amount earmarked under capital expenditure through central schemes.

Darbhanga AIIMS also discussed in Union Budget 2024-25

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the interim budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha, discussed the 16 proposed and approved AIIMS in the country. The name of AIIMS to be established in Darbhanga, Bihar is also included in the newly proposed AIIMS in the Union Budget. However, there is no mention of allocation of any separate amount for Darbhanga AIIMS in the Union Budget. A budgetary provision of Rs 6800 crore has been made in the Union Budget for the construction of new AIIMS. Including Darbhanga AIIMS, 16 other AIIMS of the country will be constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. Cabinet approval of Darbhanga AIIMS has been received. The state government has provided land in Shobhan of Darbhanga district for the construction of AIIMS.

Bihar will get Rs 8500 crore more this year

As a share in central taxes, this year Bihar will get Rs 1 lakh 11 thousand crore, i.e. Rs 8500 crore more, instead of Rs 1 lakh 2737 crore. Next year this amount will be Rs 1.22 lakh crore. The announcement of giving interest-free loan of Rs 1 lakh 30 thousand crore to the states for 50 years is also a big initiative. Taking special care of poor women, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman increased the target of making Lakhpati Didi from Rs 2 crore to Rs 3 crore and announced the benefit of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to Asha, Anganwadi, assistants and assistants under Ayushman Bharat. A free vaccination campaign will be run to protect girls aged between 9 to 14 years from cervical cancer.
