Budget 2024 Updates: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the interim budget in Parliament today i.e. on Thursday, has announced to bring all Asha and Anganwadi workers under the ambit of health care under Ayushman Bharat. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is the world’s largest publicly funded health insurance scheme. The scheme provides a coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family every year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
Till December 27 last year, 55 crore people from 12 crore families were covered under this scheme. In her budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that it is the priority of the government to provide adequate and timely financing to micro, small and medium enterprises.
