SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant management has further strengthened the Municipal Administration Department to eliminate encroachment, encroachment of houses and theft of electricity and water from the township. BSL has given the CGM of the city administration the right to file an FIR in any matter related to land, plot, housing, water and electricity on the recommendation of the General Manager or HOD of five departments. Bokaro Steel Plant’s Communications Head Manikant Dhan has confirmed the said order. Bokaro Steel Officers Association-Bosa President AK Singh has welcomed this order calling it ‘historic’.

It is noteworthy here that BSL officials earlier avoided filing FIR. Because, in most cases they had to bear the expenses themselves. From now on, all the expenses of the case will be borne by BSL management. It will also provide security to the complainant by providing him a guard. An entire legal panel will stand in his support. Even if there is no cooperation from the district administration, BSL will now run a campaign to free its land or house from encroachment and will directly file an FIR in case of any opposition. The new order of the management will give strength to the officers to take action. Their morale will also increase.

Only the Executive Director-P&A will have the power to withdraw any complaint, the CGM will have to recommend him.
