‘BRS will win century of seats in Telangana elections’, K. Kavita is finding the election exam easy

Telangana Election: Telangana’s ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Expressing confidence of scoring a hat-trick of election victories, Kavita said on Friday that the party will score a century of seats, because on the basis of hard work of a decade, this time the elections are looking “very easy to pass the exam”. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar’s daughter Kavita said in an interview to ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that there may be an anti-incumbency wave in some areas, but generally there is no “anger” among the public towards her party BRS.

Congress is a distant challenge for BRS!

He said that Congress is a distant challenge to BRS while BJP is nowhere in the state. He rejected the possibility of getting a divided mandate in the elections to be held on November 30. In the 2018 assembly elections, BRS won 88 out of 119 seats, while Congress won 19, AIMIM six and BJP one seat.

‘We will score a century this time’

Later, 12 Congress MLAs joined BRS. Kavita said, “We will score a century (this time)…BRS has always been ahead. We have always been among the public. “We have worked hard, so the (election) test looks easy to pass.” BRS has been in power in Telangana since 2014 and has won two consecutive elections since then. This time he is eyeing forming the government for the third consecutive time under the leadership of the Chief Minister.

‘There may be anti-incumbency but not anger’

BRS Legislative Council member Kavita said that there may be anti-incumbency wave in some areas but there is no anger. He said, “People are not angry with the party. After ruling for 10 years, it is natural to have an anti-incumbency wave. Some people who have not got the benefits from the schemes will just say that they are not happy and they did not get the benefits of the scheme. The next sentence will be given if not now or tomorrow.”

Telangana also benefits from victory in Karnataka elections!

Kavita said that public sentiments are with BRS. When asked whether Congress’s victory in Karnataka elections can benefit in Telangana also, he said that it is only helping BRS. He said that Congress came to power in Karnataka but failed to live up to the expectations of the people. Kavita said, “They (Congress) have not been able to implement any of the six guarantees.

We are putting this before everyone very seriously. If you give him your vote tomorrow, he will prove to be a failure again. This (discussion) is working in our favour.’” He also rejected reports that the BJP and BRS are compromising on some seats to ensure the defeat of the Congress. Kavita said, “We have no agreement with anyone. Our only ally and friendly party is AIMIM. Apart from (Asaduddin Owaisi-led) AIMIM, we have no agreement with anyone.”

He also said that Congress is definitely a challenge to BRS in this election but “it is a distant challenge”. He said, “BJP is not even in the contest because the party is not present anywhere in the state. “In the 2018 elections, it had to lose deposits on 105 seats.” Kavita said that this time it will suffer even more damage.
