BRABU Vice Chancellor told FIR about a conspiracy to derail the session, said – will not take bail, whoever has to do whatever he wants to do

On the orders of the Director of Higher Education, Bihar Education Department, Regional Education Deputy Director Dr. Devendra Kumar has filed an FIR against four people including the Vice Chancellor of BRA Bihar University, Prof. Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi in the case of financial irregularities. After which this matter has gained momentum on Friday. Along with teachers and staff, students also demonstrated in support of the Vice Chancellor. During this period, there was a lockout in the university headquarters as well as in the PG department and all the colleges. In this matter, now BRABU Vice Chancellor Prof. Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi has said that he will not take bail. Whoever has to take whatever action.

A conspiracy is being hatched to push the university back: Vice Chancellor

Talking to journalists at the University Guest House, Prof. Chaturvedi said that BRA is moving towards becoming Bihar University number-1. With the aim of regularizing the session by October, 52 examinations have been conducted in the last 136 days. Meanwhile, a conspiracy is being hatched to push the university back and derail the session by taking unilateral action.

Those who took action should be held accountable for the students-teachers movement: Vice Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor said that he has informed the Raj Bhavan about the entire matter. The dignity and autonomy of the university has been attacked and the teachers and staff are angry. Teachers and employee unions have taken to the streets to protest against the action. Student organizations are also adamant on their demand to withdraw the action. If there is any kind of aggressive movement from their side, they will not be responsible for it. All responsibility for this will be on those who take action.

The university should have been given a chance to present its side.

The Vice Chancellor said that if there was any kind of irregularity, the university should have been given a chance to present its stand on it. It is not justified to file an FIR directly alleging irregularities without bringing the Raj Bhavan to its notice.

Police barracks will be vacated from the campus: Vice Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor said that the university is for students and here the policemen have taken possession of hostel number seven. Policemen live in the university campus. When the autonomy of the university has been attacked. So now the policemen living in police barracks and hostels will be thrown out from the university campus. The Vice Chancellor said that on one hand the university is facing shortage of hostel accommodation for the students and on the other hand the hostel has been encroached upon. He also expressed displeasure over the police raid in PG hostel. Said that the policemen looted the hostel and beat up the students. He was threatened not to participate in any kind of movement. The Vice Chancellor said that this is unfair.

Exam disrupted due to strike

Here, due to the strike of teachers and employees, three examinations to be held on Friday were postponed. At the same time, the practical examination of third year graduation, which was to be held from Saturday, has also been postponed till further orders. Controller of Examinations Dr. TK Dey said that on Friday there was the third semester examination of PG session 2021-23. There was also the last paper of M.Ed and the examination of BA-B.Ed. These examinations had to be postponed due to the strike. Due to this, the students who came from different districts to take the examination had to return. Teachers, staff and student organizations have shown solidarity in protesting against the FIR. In view of this, the practical examination of graduation third year to be held from Saturday has also been postponed till further orders. The conduct of classes in all PG departments and colleges also came to a standstill. In some colleges, classes were conducted in the morning, but after 11 o’clock the colleges were also closed on the call of the Sangh.
