Boom in automobile sector: Sales of Toyota and Maruti Suzuki vehicles increased in July

Maruti Suzuki sales up by 3%

According to media reports, the sales of the domestic automaker have increased by three percent to 1,81,630 units in the month of July. This increase in vehicle sales has been registered due to increase in demand of multi-utility vehicle segment. A statement issued by Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) on Tuesday said that the company had sold a total of 1,75,916 units in July, 2022, with a six per cent increase in total domestic passenger vehicle sales. ,52,126 units, which was 1,42,850 units in July, 2022. Overall, the month of July has proved to be excellent for Maruti Suzuki India. However, there has been a decline in the sales of its small vehicles.

Sales of small cars like Alto, S-Presso registered a decline

On the other hand, there is also news that in the segment of Maruti Suzuki’s small cars, the sales of Alto, S-Presso etc. decreased to 9,590 units, which was 20,333 units in July, 2022. Along with this, the sales of compact cars like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis and Swift have also registered a decline of about 21 per cent, which came down to 67,102 units. However, in July 2022, their sales were 84,818 units.

Increase in sales of many vehicles including Maruti’s Brezza-Artiga

Along with this, the company also informed that in its multi-utility vehicle segment, Brezza, Ertiga, Franks, Grand Vitara, Jimny and XL6 vehicles were sold in July at 62,049 units, which is more than double as compared to 23,272 units in July, 2022. is even higher. Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that its exports in July stood at 22,199 units, which was 20,311 units in July, 2022.

Record sales of Toyota vehicles

Apart from this, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Tuesday reported that it recorded the highest ever monthly sales in July with 21,911 units. Last month, the company’s total supplies to dealers increased by 11 per cent to 21,911 units, compared to 19,693 units in July 2022. In the same July month, the company’s domestic wholesale sales stood at 20,759 units, while exports stood at 1,152 units. TKM had earlier registered its best monthly wholesale sales in May 2023 by selling 20,410 units. TKM Vice President (Sales and Strategic Marketing) Atul Sood said in a statement that the month of July has been very good for the company. We are thrilled to have registered a record wholesale sale of 21,911 units.

Bajaj Auto sales down 10 percent

However, in the meantime there is also news that during the month of July, a decline has been registered in the sales of Bajaj Auto vehicles. Bajaj Auto said on Tuesday that its total sales declined by 10 per cent year-on-year to 3,19,747 units in July. The company had sold 3,54,670 units in July 2022. In a statement issued by Bajaj Auto, it has been said that the company’s sales in the Indian car market declined by two per cent year-on-year to 1,79,263 units in July. Not only this, a decline of about 18 per cent has been recorded in the exports of the company during this period.
