This award was given to Chandan at Dadoji Kondadev Stadium during the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) of tennis cricket being played in Mumbai. Apart from this, Sachin Tendulkar has given a separate scholarship of Rs 1 crore 1 lakh to the board (five players). Chandan Kumar is also included in that. According to Chandan, while presenting the award, Sachin Tendulkar and Vijay Kambli also assured him that very soon he will get a chance to play in ISPL and IPL also. Chandan told that this time he was supposed to play in ISPL, but due to some reason he could not play. Told that this time the team of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ramcharan, Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Surya is playing in Tennis Ball ISPL.
