Bokaro: Woman and youth die after being hit by truck

A bike driver and a woman died after being hit by a truck on Monday near Shaheed Chowk bypass of Chandankiyari police station area. Both are from different families. After the incident, the truck driver himself took the vehicle to the police station. The truck driver is in police custody. The local villagers blocked the road demanding compensation. According to the information, Mukesh Rajwar (25), son of Anand Rajwar, resident of Pagarabad village of Saharjori Panchayat, was coming to Chandankiyari market on his bike to withdraw money. At the same place, Rupamani Devi, wife of Kartik Rajwar of the same village, was coming to Chandankiyari on foot. Then, near Chandankiyari Shaheed Chowk, a truck (JH 09 Y 7512) coming to empty cement crushed both of them from behind. Both died on the spot.

Youth identified through Aadhar card

A crowd of passers-by and local villagers gathered at the spot. Police arrived on information. Police identified the deceased youth from the Aadhar card kept in his pocket. The crowd identified the woman.

Jam removed after seven hours on assurance

Angry villagers blocked the Chas-Chandankiyari main road demanding compensation. Late evening Chandankiyari Block Development Officer Ajay Verma and Circle Officer Ravi Kumar Anand reached the spot and talked to the people. The officials gave Rs 50 thousand each in cash to the dependents of both the families. Gave assurance of government benefits, then the jam was lifted after seven hours. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition and Chandankiyari MLA Amar Bauri has also assured to donate Rs 25,000 each.
