Godda/Podaiyahat: BJP supporter Shailendra Bhagat was shot dead at Podaiyahat Bajrangbali Chowk in Godda district of Jharkhand. Three criminals who came riding on a bike fired indiscriminately and shot Shailendra Bhagat three times. Two bullets were fired in the chest and one bullet was fired near the head. After being shot, Shailendra Bhagat was brought to Podaiyahat Hospital, from where the doctors immediately referred him to Godda. While bringing Godda in the ambulance, he died on the way. Doctors declared him dead at Godda Sadar Hospital. His son, daughter and wife were also in the ambulance. Dr. Prashant Mishra of Podaiyahat Hospital said that Shailendra was found with three bullet marks. The police is investigating the matter.
Large number of police forces deployed in the hospital
On receiving information about Shailendra’s death, a large number of police forces were deployed at Sadar Hospital. Arvind Bhagat, brother of the deceased, said that the criminals were three-four in number. After the firing, everyone ran away. Due to the firing incident, there was an atmosphere of panic near Bajrangbali Chowk of Podaiyahat. The criminals committed the incident just a short distance away from the police station.
The dispute escalated after the fight with the son.
Son Atul Bhagat told that a few days ago there was an incident of fighting near Plus Two High School in Godda. Bittu Kumar and two-three youths of Devils Group were involved in the fight with him. After the fight, when the accused reached Kamli Maidan in Podaiyahat, father Shailendra Bhagat called Bittu at home and explained. Was not asked to fight etc. Even after explaining, Bittu threatened to kill both father and son. Just two days later they killed my father. Atul told that his father sent him to a sweet shop. Meanwhile, the sound of gunshot was heard. I thought that a tire had burst, but when the sound came the second time, I saw that my father had fallen. Atul said that Bittu had already committed many crimes. Despite this the police did not arrest him. For this reason he carried out a big incident. If the police does not take action then it will be protested.

Administration should immediately remove Podaiyahat police station in-charge: Raghavendra
Podaiyahat Zilla Parishad member Raghavendra Singh, who reached Sadar Hospital, said that there is no law and order in Podaiyahat. The new police station does not take action after reporting the incident. No one is safe in Podaiyahat. This type of incident happens at six in the evening. The morale of criminals is high. The administration should take immediate cognizance.

On this matter, MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey has tweeted on his social site ‘X’ and written that BJP supporter Shailendra Bhagat has been shot by criminals in Podaiyahat. This murder has left me heartbroken. The criminals are workers of a particular party. I will take this criminal and his master behind the bars.
