BJP will bet on SC candidate for general Lok Sabha seat in UP, search for candidate continues in Pilibhit-Meerut.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has recently captured 3 states in the assembly elections of five states. Due to this, the confidence level of the party has increased significantly. It is expected to yield political benefits in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. But now BJP has started preparing for Mission 24. BJP has prepared to use a new method on 80 Lok Sabha seats of UP. If reliable sources of the party are to be believed, BJP is trying to field SC (Dalit) candidate from the General Lok Sabha seat of UP. This experiment is being prepared to be conducted first in Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat and Meerut Lok Sabha seat of party MP Varun Gandhi, who is a constant attacker of BJP. In this, SC voters are 19 percent in Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat and more than 22 percent in Meerut Lok Sabha. BJP’s victory on these seats is expected to be decided due to the combination of SC votes with upper caste and OBC votes.

Along with this, there will also be political benefit among SC voters. Of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP, BJP has 62, while the BSP-SP alliance had won 15 seats in the 2019 elections. In this, SP had won 5 seats, BSP had won 10 seats, BJP’s ally Apna Dal had won 2 seats and Congress had won 01 seat. Of the 17 reserved Lok Sabha seats in UP, BJP has 14, BSP has 2 and Apna Dal has one seat. Congress and SP could not win the SC reserved seat. BJP has control over most of the reserved seats in UP, but now it is trying to win general seats also through SC voters. In UP, Nagina, Bulandshahr, Hathras, Agra, Etawah, Jalaun, Kaushambi, Mohanlalganj, Barabanki, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Misrikh, Bahraich, Basgaon, Lalganj, Fish City and Robertsganj Lok Sabha seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes. Similarly, 86 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and Tribes in the UP Assembly. Of these, 84 seats are reserved for SC and 2 seats are reserved for ST. BJP has maximum control over these seats.

BJP experimented in Rajasthan assembly elections

BJP had experimented by fielding SC candidates on general seats in Rajasthan Assembly elections 2023. This proved successful. However, before the elections, Rajasthan was considered a strong fort of Congress. But, BJP gained power due to many good experiments of the party. In Rajasthan, 34 seats are reserved for SC and 25 for ST i.e. out of total 200 seats of Rajasthan Assembly, 59 seats are reserved for SC-ST. Candidates from these categories had already contested the reserved seats. But, BJP had fielded ST candidates on general seats also. BJP did this experiment on five seats and Congress on three seats. BJP has got success on all five seats. Earlier, SP had made a plan to field SC candidate for the General Mayor seat of General Municipal Corporation of UP. But, in the end, some people from the party itself protested. Due to which the plan was withdrawn. Due to this not even a single mayor of SP won.

Know the equations of Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat

There are about 18 lakh voters in Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat of UP. Here, along with Hindu voters, Muslim voters also have a special influence. There are about 30 percent Muslim voters in Pilibhit district. There is a large number of Muslim voters in Baheri, Pilibhit, Barkheda, Puranpur and Bisalpur constituencies. However, Maneka Gandhi is the MP from this seat 6 times, and her son Varun Gandhi is the MP for the second time. They also get a large number of Muslim voters. In the Lok Sabha elections 2019, BJP MP Varun Gandhi got 7,04,549 i.e. 59.38% votes and SP-BSP alliance candidate Hemraj Verma got 4,48,922 i.e. 37.83% votes. MP Varun Gandhi won by a huge margin of 2,55,627 votes. However, now Hemraj Verma is in BJP, and Varun Gandhi is attacking BJP. SC voters also play a decisive role in Meerut Lok Sabha seat. BJP’s victory becomes difficult due to Muslim candidate contesting on BSP ticket, there was a very close contest in the last election. Although BJP won, but now BJP is trying to break the caste equation of BSP. Therefore the search is on for candidates. Whether it is successful or not. But, work on this plan has come to light.
